CHRISTMAS TREASURES

The Teddies Worldwide CHRISTMAS TREASURES has finally started.
It has been a great experience to plan a whole collection for this show. It has also been hard to keep pictures and work in progress for myself as each creation came into life.
Now I can finally show them off:

NUTMEG the squirrel

Squirrels are such cute creatures I think. I love red squirrels, their rich colours and their fluffy tail, their funny curious expression.
It took me a while to decide which fabric was the most suited for this project. In the end I chose two fabrics, one for the rich fluffy tail (a very nice Schulte faux fur), and a wonderful short orange reddish alpaca. In the end I also added some subtle brown shading to the body to give it a deeper and richer colour. It is really nice and warm I think.

NUTMEG is adopted, thank you!

SILVER - a young raccoon

This is Silver, another raccoon. I love doing raccoons, and every time I make one, he comes out with his own personality! This is a real dreamer, I just wouldn't know how else to describe him!
SILVER is adopted, thank you!

SAND - a desert fox

I have been wanting to do a fennec for some time now. I think they are cute animals, with those funny disproportionate ears. I am very proud of the result, it has been a real pleasure to make. I have been a bit frustrated by the pictures format the CHRISTMAS TREASURES imposes. It is tall and narrow, and it was very difficult to take good picures when your animal is as long as it is tall, if not more. Here I have no restrains! Here is SAND:

SAND is adopted, thank you!

SAPPHIRE the siamese kitten

I so enjoy making cats. I love their noble and sometimes haughty air. Well, this one came out haughty for sure. I don't now what he thinks, but surely he feels above us....you can just tell from his expression...haughty sapphire I should have called him. There. :-)

SAPPHIRE is adopted, thank you!

FABIO panda

And this is the last of the critters I did for the BRIGHT STAR show. After so many different animals, I felt like doing a bear.
My children decided that this panda deserved a very special name. After naming a fox after my eldest son Pietro, now I have a panda with my youngest son's  name: FABIO.
I think it is appropriate as this panda has a very happy face, and my son is a happy fellow all right  ;-)
Fabio is adopted, thank you!

SCHOGGI the mouse

This is Schoggi, also made for the BRIGHT STAR show. I painted a cute sleigh for him, and decided he also needed something warm for the winter...a nice little poncho.

Schoggi is still available for adoption on my KALEideaSCOPE page here:

INK the skunk

I have a new design for a skunk. I also designed a cute felt snowman. It has been fun to take pictures of the two of them!

I wired the tail with two different wires. One goes through the body from head to middle tail, one is sewn into the tail so that you can really curve it as you wish.
I am particularly proud of it as you can really pose this one as you like:
Ink can sit...
Ink on all fours
Ink can stand...
...she can stand alone!

INK has been ADOPTED! Thank you!
